2011 Turkey Bowl

On an windy and mild Thanksgiving morning (gorgeous weather for Buffalo), the Rice led warriors won 2--1. It was a defensive battle and more passes were intercepted than caught (a slight exaggeration)...

Even the youngins added to our game this year. Soon enough they'll be asking us not to show up. The MVP for 2011 has to go to #51 Pozlusny... Spikes... I can't remember his name. 2 TD's caught a long pass from me and ran one in. Nice job.

2010 Turkey Bowl

I lost this year.... how did that happen? A bunch of guys were sick. Zach started the game but couldn't finish it. Nobody got hurt (maybe hurt feelings) and I think the kids outnumbered the adults. The Danny Roberts led team started out slow but quickly gained confidence and scored in back to back drives. I couldn't get anything going at QB and had a tough time finding open receivers even though we were wearing pinnies. The final score 5 TDs-3.

2009 Turkey Bowl

We won, that's all that matters. I'm adding this in 10 months after the fact and I have no idea what happened, except my team won.

2008 Turkey Bowl

Here's this year's version of the Turkey Bowl participants. Records were set throughout the game. Mike Alessandra, due to a bad cold (and knee surgery) offered to be alltime QB. By doing so he destroyed the old interception mark by three. Jeff Rice threw 17 interceptions in a game due to poor pass routes and hungover receivers. But Mike came in this year and threw an astounding 20. He made Joe Dufek look good.

The teams were unevenly mmatched and that showed up in the final score. Which we are not reporting (7-4). Until next year.

Turkey Bowl 2006

Turkey Bowl 2006

You can always count on the Turkey Bowl in Buffalo being 50 degrees and sunny.

For the third year in a row the Team of R. Ferguson/ Rice won the Turkey Bowl by a score of 7-6; after taking it on the chin for 18 odd years and being on the losing end. This one started with the winnners letting the D. Roberts led team to score on their first 4 drives before stopping them. Eventually Rice took over for J. Ferguson and led them to their first two scores. It was then that the mature and wily veteran QB J. Ferguson could pass his team down the field at will.

A few injuries happened on the way to the forum. D. Benton pulled his hammy on the second play of the game and saddled right up to the bar and made himself at home. R. Vishion decided that drinking was more important than playing and he too started drinking them down faster than a jackrabbit on a date.

It was tough to decide this year's MVP. Pride could not let me give it to lil' C. Jones with his 3 TD's in a losing cause.

This Has Nothing to do with Turkey or Bowls

Down on Lake Chautauqua 6/12/06, fishing for crappie and perch, this bass just happened upon me. It was a nice lil' fight on my 5 ft., 2 lb. test, Mitchell rod and reel.
